Players are responsible for executing the plays on the field, but their success depends entirely on your instruction, organization, and ability to assemble a talented roster as the head coach, general manager, and man in charge. Your decisions behind the scenes determine your team’s success.

But the preparation doesn’t start moments before kickoff. It begins many days before.  Every game week starts in the comfort of your very own decked-out office, fully furnished and stocked with everything you need to call all the shots. Your desk area comes complete with a computer, phone, TV, and inbox, keeping you in touch with your team owner, agents, and other important contacts around the NFL.

A helpful calendar keeps you organized at all times. Refer to it often and modify your schedule however you see fit. Whether you’re the kind of coach who runs full-contact practices five days a week or someone who prefers non-contact drills to limit injuries, it’s your decision. The easily accessible calendar is your main tool to stay organized with all your commitments.  Your weekly responsibilities include conducting practice sessions, running specific plays until they become Money Plays (plays with a higher probability of success), understanding when to give the team a rest rather than push them through another strenuous workout, and setting the depth chart.

Your schedule is structured and laid out in a fashion that enables you to fully prepare for the competition on gameday.  Gameday itself serves as your stage, the time to put your coaching skills to the test, the big payoff for the long hours of hard work logged over the week. You’re responsible for calling the plays, motivating your players, managing the clock, and doing anything it takes to come out victorious. While you’re not the one on the field running the plays, you’re in charge of everything else - from instructing the team captain to call heads or tails during the coin toss to pinpointing mismatches and exploiting your opponent’s weaknesses with the perfect play call.

You can also delegate playcalling responsibilities to an assistant coach while taking the time to motivate players on the sidelines between plays. You have the option to don your headset and have plays sent to your quarterback via voice-automated controls.  Only then, after all the hard work and preparation, does the action occur.
