On any given Sunday in choirs across the country there are vocalists who dream of being The One. With the proliferation of competitions focusing so intently on secular music, it was frustrating not having an outlet for their gifts.

Thus, Gospel Dream, the competition broadcast on the Gospel Music Channel was born. For the third season, over one thousand hopefuls auditioned across the country hoping for the chance to become not one but The One, with the added bonus of a recording contract!

From those auditions, 21 semifinalists were narrowed down to 10 finalists. The last round takes place in Nashville, where dreams can be realized or dreams can be broken. The Nashville round determines the winner of the Gospel Dream title and the coveted major label deal.

To commemorate the third season's success, Verity Records presents, Gospel Dream, featuring music from the 10 finalists as well as this year's winner, Brian Smith. The CD opens with the track "Sing," an ensemble composed by Israel Houghton and the highly sought-after gospel producer Aaron Lindsey. Other key tracks include "Glorious" sung by Chicago's Kim Lowery, and made popular by Martha Munizzi, winner Brian Smith's cover of Casting Crown's hit "Lifesong," and the closing track "Power of a Dream," the up-tempo track sung by the 10 finalists.
