When asked how to explain the sound, Joy says, "The only way I can think to describe it is this: like London fog rolling into the California Bay Area." Its progressive pop rock sound combines unique programmed elements, ambient electric and acoustic guitar, driving piano and even stringed instruments recorded in Prague.
