2010 saw Southbound Fearing reach new heights in their still very young career with a new E.P., national tours, and a nationwide radio single. 2011 is shaping up to be the year that Christian rock music fans both near and far will be formally introduced to the Toledo, OH based quarter.
The band has pushed themselves both musically and lyrically for this new project, while still sticking to their pop/rock roots. Southbound Fearing's album contains the songs "Fighting Words" and "200k Miles" which display a heavier, driving rock sound, while the songs "The Only Word" and "Beautiful" are much softer and more worshipful than anything on the band's previous releases.
Southbound Fearing has always refused to take the "under the radar" approach in their lyrics and this album is no different. Common themes on the album include God's grace and salvation as well as the very real struggles that the guys have gone through. "We aren't perfect. We're four guys who screw up just as much as everyone else and we want our fans to relate to our songs, we want them to know that God is a God who meets people where they are. Christ gave His life to save the broken."
