Angel of Hope Message: Each day, hope anew - Angel of Hope is Susan's new expression of a timeless sentiment... The idea of a little spark of hope carrying us forward is symbolized by this angel holding a small candle, sheltering its flame, and moving ahead. A gift for those we want to encourage and support with our friendship and love.

"I love the idea of lighting a candle for someone, or for a wish, or a thought... keeping it alive, carrying it forward. So this angel is sheltering and protecting a small candle with a little gold-leafed flame. It's important that the flame is small - sometimes it's just a little flicker or a fleeting sign that can give you hope. Sometimes for me, focusing on seemingly insignificant things - events or happenings that I might ordinarily take for granted - it's those things, those little miracles, which can give hope. I wanted Angel of Hope to be a positive piece. Kind of like the little spark that keeps us going." - Susan Lordi

Artist Information
Susan Lordi's art reflects our relationships with people and the world around us. Her keen observation of the human form is further inspired by ballet, modern dance, nature, and her personal experiences with family and friends. These influences are revealed in her Willow Tree sculptures, from which emotion is communicated through gestures only.

Besides her work in sculpture, Susan has always loved making art with cloth. She has a Master of Fine Arts in Textile Design, and her fiber art has been exhibited internationally. A monograph of her art textiles has been published in the Portfolio Collection by Telos Art Publishing and she is featured in the book Art Textiles of the World: USA. Susan maintains a studio in Kansas City, Missouri.
