THE AFTERS ROCK STREET WEEK WITH GLITTERING REVIEWS, VIRAL VIDEO DOMINATION, RADIO NO. 1 AND iTUNES HIT!
NASHVILLE, TN….2/28/08…..As their sophomore project, NEVER GOING BACK TO OK hits retail outlets and digital domains worldwide, INO/Columbia Records’ band THE AFTERS street week has been filled with a plethora of glittering reviews, viral video domination with “MySpace Girl” on YouTube, MySpace, Seventeen.com and more, as well as a No. 1 Christian CHR single with their title track. In addition, after only 48 hours of release, the project rocketed to No. 14 on iTunes® overall digital chart, and No. 4 on the digital Rock chart. “Keeping Me Alive,” THE AFTERS emerging single at Christian AC continues to gain support from key stations including KSBJ/Houston, KTSL/Spokane, KPEZ/Austin and KXOJ/Tulsa.

With prime placement on MySpace.com, YouTube, Seventeen.com , upcoming uses scheduled to appear on the TV GUIDE Channel website and E!, as well as a special myspace bulletin sent out by former label mates the Jonas Brothers, The Afters viral video for “MySpace Girl” has already been viewed over 125,000 times on MySpace with an 86% rating, and over 16,000 times on YouTube where it has a 4 star rating and has been chosen as a favorite over 300 times. The Gospel Music Channel with host the television broadcast premiere the video on March 8th. To view the video go to: YouTube

In addition to the previously mentioned itunes® overall and rock charting, NEVER GOING BACK TO OK was front and center on the home page of itunes® and a featured release on the new music Tuesday email that went out to millions of subscribers. Along with iTunes®, fans may have found The Afters on the homepage of Rhapsody’s subscription service, the album highlighted in their weekly e-newsletter as well as on Rhapsody. com, RoadRunner, and Time Warner. Last but not least, Napster did an exclusive stream and highlighted the band on their genre pages as well.

NEVER GOING BACK TO OK is a culmination of all the buzz and excitement of the past three years for this emerging band. After receiving a Gospel Music Award for “Best New Artist of 2006” and having the most downloaded inspirational track (“Beautiful Love”) of the same year on the iTunes® charts, the band is back with a diverse record that is continuing to impress a wide rang of media, including the following:

“[Never Going Back to OK is] … a glossy collection split between catchy hooks and emotional hand-wringing on a dozen tunes … [T]he Afters deftly balance humor and sentiment on “Myspace Girl” … the song is punchy and bright, and a sound that’s definitely worth pursuing. “ — Performing Songwriter, March/April 2008

“An album full of infectious radio-ready, infectiously melodic, highly engaging tunes. The Afters have not only established consistency in the realm of pop songcraft, they have also created credibility as a band who make the most of dynamic, arrangement, and execution in connecting with their audiences musically and emotionally. Ultimately, The Afters reinforce the notion that they are a band with a ridiculous amount of potential to rule the radio but gently remind listeners that they’re more than that, as well.” - Popmatters

“… the band underwent a metamorphosis from unknown to unavoidable. Without straying too far from their roots, the Afters distanced themselves from the pack with this record. - All Music Guide 4.5 Stars

“… more diversity … never stagnant … you really can’t say enough about the improvement from first album to second album … with this album looks for them to become a full-fledged hit-making machine. Look out world, here come The Afters.” - Alternative Addiction 4 out of 5 stars

The Afters will also be touring across the country throughout 2008 including headlining their own dates this spring and hitting the major summer festivals. All tour dates listed below are subject to change.

Releasing their debut project “I Wish We All Could Win” in 2005, The Afters received top attention from their fans and media outlets. The Afters’ music has appeared on the networks of MTV, mtvU, ABC Family and E! News as well as on HOT AC and VH-1 radio along with outlets such as Billboard, BOP and Popstar. The MTV college network and mtvU have been strong supporters of the band as their music video for “Beautiful Love” was awarded with an mtvU Award for Best Streaming Video in 2005. The Afters were awarded the Dove Award for “New Artist of the Year” (2006), and has had over 250,000 downloads to date. The foursome composed of Josh Havens, Matt Fuqua, Brad Wigg and Marc Dodd, met while working at a Starbucks in Mesquite, Texas.

About Mike Farris

Founder and former front man of the highly successful rock group Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies, Mike Farris has lived through it all, literally. The SCW band has toured with artists/groups Meatloaf, Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews Band, Allman Brothers Band, Blues Traveler and more. Then, nearly dead from an accidental overdose of pills and alcohol before he turned 21, Farris made a desperate cry out to God, and He responded. Farris’ struggles through addiction slowly turned into hope as he and the band, Screamin Cheetah Wheelies, played their final show in Spain to 30,000 fans then two years later, he signed with INO/ Columbia Records releasing what many call a “uniquely redemptive story” with Salvation In Lights.
