Multi-million-selling, GRAMMY and Dove Award-winning rock band Third Day has extended its groundbreaking partnership with Chevrolet to the charitable arena, encouraging local participation in charity campaigns through the Chevrolet & Third Day Thanks and Giving Drive.Third Day and Chevrolet will wrap up their groundbreaking charity effort, with a hometown appearance at the 59th Lighting of the Great Tree at Macy’s at Lenox Square in Atlanta where they will give away an all new 2007 Chevy Silverado. Fans can register to win the All American Truck at several southeast region Third Day concerts, as well as online at the special event website www.chevythanksandgiving.com.
The new charity campaign coincides with Third Day’s tour in support of the band’s new recording, Christmas Offerings, which released October 10. In each market, Chevrolet and Third Day are partnering with local radio stations to raise charitable contributions during the holiday season.
“The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are great catalysts to propel all of us to be more involved with our neighbors who are going through difficult trials,” said Tai Anderson, Third Day’s bass player. “In this day and age, our neighbors are both those in our own city and those around the world.”
“We are ecstatic with the partnership we have been able to create for these charities with Third Day, Chevrolet, Macy’s and the vital local radio station partners,” said J. David Huffman of Creative Trust Management, Third Day’s management company. “What an amazing way to celebrate this season by giving of ourselves to meet the needs of others in each community. We certainly appreciate Chevy supporting our fans with the Silverado giveaway, as well.”
“Chevrolet has a strong connection to Third Day, and this year we have a deeper purpose,” said Tim Hudgens, Chevrolet Regional Marketing Manager. “As America’s brand, we must do what we can to help our communities. Through the Thanks and Giving Drive we can impact American families in a positive way.”
The Thanks and Giving Drives have teamed with local radio stations and benefited charities in the following markets: Greenville, S.C. (His Radio/Blue Star Mothers Operation Hope); Jacksonville, Fla. (88.1 The Promise/Salvation Army U Care Food Drive); Tallahassee, Fla. (Way-FM/Stockings With Care); West Palm Beach, Fla. (Way-FM/Forgotten Soldiers Outreach); Fort Myers, Fla. (Way-FM/Nation’s Association); Mobile, Ala. (Power 88.5/Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child) and Atlanta (The Fish/Hosea Williams Feed The Hungry & Homeless).
