Day of Fire lead singer Josh Brown’s life use to be about sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll, but now he’s a man on fire for God.

At 17, Brown joined the Voodoo Hippies, the band that would eventually become Full Devil Jacket (FDJ). Within five years, Brown and FDJ found themselves still unsigned but on the cusp of a big break.

At a massive summer festival, the band followed Kid Rock’s high-energy set and played to the same 120,000 screaming fans. More importantly, there was a major label representative standing at the side of the stage looking on with great interest.

“I was so proud that day, but I had so much shame because I was hiding [my drug addiction],” Brown, 29, recalls. “All of these great things were happening, and I was hoping no one had seen my track marks. Then after I got the money, it just helped me buy a lot more drugs…….”
